Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
• Ensure the safety of all program participants in and around the pool area.
• Prepare for and teach all assigned classes.

HealthFitness has a great opportunity for a part-time (8-12 hrs/week) Lifeguard at our client site located in Marysville, OH. As the lifeguard, you will coordinate and operate the aquatic facilities and areas. You will also maximize participation, outcomes, and customer satisfaction within the areas of the aquatic center.
JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES (Duties & Responsibilities)
Primary:
· Ensure the safety and well-being of patrons using the Wellness Center aquatic facilities.

· Observe and enforce all rules and regulations.
-
· Perform facility maintenance responsibilities as needed; ensure facility and equipment are clean. Ensure personal and facility appearance meet standards.
-
· Reduce chance of injury and minimize or eliminate hazardous situations.
-
· Respond quickly to all emergency situations.
-
· Administer emergency first aid to injured victims.
-
· Communicate with other staff when additional assistance is needed.
-
· Report to Wellness Center Aquatic Supervisor.
Secondary:
· Attend all in-service training programs and be aware of all facility programming.
· Swim on a weekly basis to stay in good swimming shape.
· Serve as a liaison between aquatic supervisor and part-time lifeguards.
· Projects and other duties as assigned.
· Assist in other areas if necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
Education, Experience and Certifications:
· Current Red Cross, YMCA or Boy Scouts of America lifeguard training (within the previous three years) required.
· Current CPR certification for the professional rescuer required.
· Water Safety Instructor certification preferred.
· Must successfully complete Wellness Center Lifeguard water test.
Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
· Previous experience in some aspect of aquatics operation preferred.
· Problem solving and decision making skills.
· Maintain professional behavior and appearance.
· Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team with enthusiasm, initiative and creativity.

Job Title: Aquatic Fitness Instructor (Lacey, Washington)

Salary: $17.69 - $19.69 Hourly DOE
Job Type: Part Time (3-5 hours/week)
Lacey Parks and Recreation manages three local high school swimming pools: North Thurston, Timberline, and River Ridge. During the non-school hours, Lacey Parks and Recreation offers community programming such as swim lessons, aquatic fitness classes, open swim, and facilitates rentals for private groups. This is a part-time position working approximately 3-5 hours per week.
Aquatic Fitness Instructors are expected to teach classes in a positive, upbeat, motivating, and safe manner.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Observe participant movements to ensure injury prevention.
Provide modified exercises for participants with injuries.
Provide participants clear instructions on correct posture and form.
Motivate and encourage all participants to succeed.
Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years old.
The ideal candidate will be available to work evenings, specifically Thursday evenings from 7 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.
Previous teaching experience is desired.
Certification from an accredited group fitness/water fitness association.
